At the U.S. Dept. of Education, Jerry Malitz served in a senior leadership role as the first Chief Information Technology Officer at the Institute of Education Sciences. In this role he conceptualized, designed, and implemented information technologies across the Institute. Prior to that he served as the Chief Technology Officer and Webmaster at the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), where he was the creative director in spearheading improvements in serving the needs of customers, management, and staff through the NCES website.

Mr. Malitz has produced several books, videos and training sessions on data use and technology in education, and he has designed numerous applications for the dissemination and collection of information through the web.

Mr. Malitz continues to work with federal agencies, associations, State Education Departments, school districts, and postsecondary institutions, designing research approaches and putting the proper data tools at the disposal of education practitioners and providing instruction on how to best use them to inform decision-making.  

As President of MCS, Jerry Malitz brings a wide array of expertise to his clients in the field of information technology and data standards and how they can best be used to promote organizational growth and effectiveness. As the former Chief Information Technology Officer of the Institute of Education Sciences (Research and Statistics gathering arm of the U.S. Department of Education), the Chief Technology Officer and Webmaster for the National Center of Education Statistics (NCES), and as the Technology Outreach Director of NCES where he was one of the nation’s first champions for the effectiveness of technology in and outside the education system, he has constantly pushed for excellence and beyond.  His leadership and the successful programs he initiated and managed, constitutes the skills, vision and strategic intuition necessary to help promote and synchronize your technology programs to help you best serve your staff and your constituents while at the same time ensuring that your website activities become integral to your sector and global organizational ambitions.
